Construction Manager - Bridges

Our client who is a leader in the Construction industry is actively recruiting for a Construction Manager - Bridges. This is a Direct Hire position.

MUST MUST MUST have minimum of 5 years experience as Construction Manager building Bridges.

Position Summary: We are seeking a Construction Manager who brings a highly ethical approach to this position and works in a team-oriented environment. This position must have minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Manager/Project Manager in Bridges. Promotes a positive atmosphere with effective communication and will have strong management, delegation, planning and leadership skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop diverse, high performing teams through coaching, training and development.
Be accountable for successful delivery of multiple projects.
Provide oversight, leadership and be accountable for the development and maintenance of project schedules and execution plans.
Oversee preconstruction phase, team selection and ensure the teams execute the stages on a portfolio of projects.
Develop strategies and action plans to overcome project execution challenges.
Support business development activities by creating and maintaining long lasting relationships with clients, engineers, suppliers, sub-contractors etc.

Knowledge Required:

Knowledge of construction techniques and disciplines, production and cost control, scheduling, safety policies and regulations and engineering requirements.
Knowledge of Ontario Health and Safety Act and Regulations
Knowledge of Federal and Provincial Acts & Regulations
Knowledge of contracts, procedures, impacts of changes on cost and schedules

Qualifications:

Post Secondary degree or diploma in Construction or Engineering.
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in construction with at least 8 years of managing large projects and Bridges.
Proven leadership skills
Computer literate.
Adaptable and flexible.
Ability to manage large groups, attract and hire workers.
Sound understanding of Risk Management.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability.
Must be able to work under pressure.
Demonstrated experience in the construction industry.
