Job Description

Our client, a leading expedited transportation company, with coast-to-coast coverage within Canada and major markets in the United States is looking for an energetic self-starter to join our team as an Operations Co-Ordinator in our Edmonton location. This position will report directly to the Terminal Manager.

What We Offer:

Salary: From $55,000
Job Type: Temp-to-Perm

What You'll Do:

Administrative duties to support efficient operation.
Maintain Company OH&S standards.
Work with the operations team to meet targets and objectives.
Oversee operations to ensure timely and accurate processing of shipments.
Manage Dock workers.
Manages the yard usage, including ensuring that equipment is parked properly and securely.
Responsible for seeing that outbound freight is loaded into Linehaul and P&D units to meet service requirements.
Responsible for seeing outbound freight is correctly routed.
Plan and coordinate Less Than Truckload (LTL) shipments.
Provide support in Warehouse and Logistics.
Handle customer escalation situations that require increased attention.
Effectively communicate issues to management.

What We're Looking For:

Previous Transportation or operational experience.
Forklift knowledge would be considered an asset.
Proficient communication skills.
Comfortable with computer technology (email and online web tools).
Truck mate experience is an asset.
Demonstrated customer relationship skills.
Self-starter and ability to manage with minimal supervision.
Able to meet deadlines in a high transactional operations environment.
