Job Description

We're seeking Team Lead - Cleaners to join our client's team in Mississauga on a temp-to-perm basis. Reporting to the Cleaning Assistant Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day cleaning operations of the buildings and surrounding building/areas, ensuring they're clean and safe. 
 
What We Offer: 
  • Job Type: Temporary-to-Permanent, full-time 
  • Shift: Nights – 11 PM to 7 AM (Must be flexible; weekend and statutory holiday work is required)
  • Start Date: ASAP 
  • Hourly Rate: $22/hr 
  • Location of work: Mississauga, ON 
 
What You’ll Do:
  • Ensure all frontline staff are assigned duties and deployed to their area of work within 20 minutes.
  • Ensure all equipment is accounted for at the end of each shift.
  • Supervise and direct staff including the daily allocation of duties/general direction and checking of work throughout the day.
  • Promote Health and Safety within the team and raise awareness amongst all the staff of appropriate Health and Safety regulations.
  • Maintain records and submit reports concerning personnel, equipment, supplies and general non-routine activities.
  • Organize and deliver training to frontline staff, including specialized cleaning. Monitors, documents and ensures the ongoing training of all personnel
  • Inspect and audit cleaning procedures with personnel of the assigned area; recommend, corrects and implements changes in procedures as necessary.
  • Complete employee injury reports, offers modified work as necessary and follow up on employee status
  • Ensure proper use of technology by frontline staff. 
  • Monitoring, progressive discipline, new probationary reviews and assistance with annual performance appraisals.
  • Performs other duties as required.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Must have previous experience in a cleaning environment.
  • Must have previous experience supervising a team in a 24/7 business environment.
  • Customer and client focused.
  • Ability to implement and adhere to standards and procedures.
  • Must have Health and Safety experience including understanding the Supervisors’ responsibilities under OHSA.
  • Basic office skills including but not limited to email, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to use IOS Technology base platforms.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Must be able to pass security check.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
